Trailblazer senior John Means selected in MLB Draft

The Gardner-Edgerton baseball team has produced a second pro-prospect for 2011. Left-handed pitcher John Means was selected in the 46th round of the 2011 MLB draft to the Atlanta Braves.

2011 marks the first time ever that two Trailblazers have been selected in the MLB draft in the same year and Means is just the third player ever to be drafted out of Gardner-Edgerton High School.

Means signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball at Fort Scott Community College and has until August 15th to officially decide to go to the Braves or attend Fort Scott.

The locations of Atlanta's minor league affiliates are listed below.

Rookie:

Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Dominican Republic

Danville, Virginia

Single-A:

Rome, Georgia

Advanced Single-A:

Lynchburg, Virginia

Double-A:

Pearl, Mississippi

Triple-A:

Lawrenceville, Georgia
